For decades, gaming console emulators have allowed tech-savvy users to play their favorite games on officially unsupported devices.
While the trend has broadly been confined to older-generation consoles like the Nintendo 64 or GameBoy, hackers are now starting to get even games exclusive to current-generation hardware, like Sony’s PlayStation 5, to run on a PC.
Thanks to rapid advancements in emulator tech, PS5 titles are becoming increasingly playable on virtually any modern PC, as Ars Technica reports.
Videos making the rounds on social media show PS5 games, like “Dead Cells,” comfortably running “fully natively” on a PC thanks to a new project called AnyPS5, which has been making major strides.
